Covid may have killed Tastebuds but the Art lives on!
Anyone who’s ever stepped foot inside Tastebuds Restaurant has undoubtedly noticed the lively artwork that helped to create a truly unique and vibrant atmosphere.
Much of the artwork was done by the owner, Bridget K. McGinty, who has always found ways to share her passion with the public through food, art and pros.
Several of her paintings will be on view at the Treehouse (820 College Avenue) in Tremont with an opening reception Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5 till 10pm.
The exhibit will continue through March and offers fans of Tastebuds restaurant and art lovers alike a chance to own a piece of Cleveland history!
When I find the words to properly express how terrible this is, how horrible I feel and how much I will miss everyone that made Tastebuds so unique and special, I will let you know. Until then, thank you for giving me the opportunity to cook, serve and employ the amazing people of Cleveland for nearly two decades. I have been so blessed with the most loving customers, loyal employees and supportive family, friends, food and equipment vendors and servicers. It has been a dream come true and while Tastebuds will no longer be a restaurant, I am confident some part of it will live on, I just have to figure out how.
Thanks for The Memories!

If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a family, friends, neighborhood businesses, mentors, the community, city officials, and great media coverage to build a restaurant. This has been our experience at Tastebuds, an independently owned, family operated lunch restaurant bordering Chinatown, downtown, and in close proximity to Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University. Tastebuds opened in May of 2001 and serves fresh flavorful food that’s healthy and reasonably priced.
Lunches are prepared from hand selected fruits and vegetables, ensuring the highest quality. We understand that time and money are tight during the lunch hour for most of our clientele so we run a modern cafeteria style of service. Step up to the counter and choose from a wide variety of gourmet salads and sandwiches or choose from the daily offerings of homemade soups, hot entree specials, and pizza served by the slice. Treat yourself to fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, or soft baked jumbo cookies for dessert. Whether you’re vegetarian, dieting, or craving made from scratch comfort foods, there is something for everyone at Tastebuds.
